About that mouse poop

So, really, how much poo can come out of a mouse? I am massively grossed out and getting dishpan hands from the washing of the everything.

Dear God....

1. Thanks for Spaghetti, I like it.

2. Please tell the mice to live outside. You did, however, convince me to throw out the 2009 Halloween candy. Of course, now I get to throw out the rest of the food in that cupboard too. But that's okay, it's all good. Can mice open cupboard doors?

3. Thanks for teaching me that when piece falls off the vacuum, I should put it back on immediately. Now, can you help me find it? Apparently it's necessary. :(

Love,
Drene.

Another CAT scan Friday...

Think I'll be able to tell y'all I am one year tumor free??? I'm thinking so! Which reminds me, I got the contrast CT six months ago and didn't die. Fooled them! My left foot is still always cold - it's become a bit of a running joke between Dr. Debertin and I, as I ask about it every time I am in. Of course, he has to determine that it is, in fact, still colder than the right, every time. And he always seems so surprised.

I had allergy testing and found out I am allergic to all the foods I normally eat - beef, cinnamon, strawberries, bananas, apples...etc... and many I don't eat at all for fear of death - salmon, mussels, shrimp, lobster, clams, scallops... and food preservatives...Interesting! I am eating none of those things now (as much as possible - food preservatives? - everywhere!) and I am having a lot less night time illness.

The blood pressure is still a mess, but we are working on it. Medication is a better option than surgery on the artery, says my nephrologist. I respect his opinion, but I'm getting tired of the high BP. Four meds and counting, and med number 4 has changed every three months this year. This one isn't working either.

I think I need to go back to the old fashioned way to treat this - lose weight. I can now run 6.5 km and want to run more and more (I just neeed a little more daylight!) and I am not losing a pound... but it may be stress - up for a big promotion at work. Work-life balance is so important - and so difficult to achieve. I think it's the right move, but it is a big job. And a lot of people will be counting on me to make their work lives better.

Of course it may also be the Halloween candy!
Love you all...

OK People, Start praying

I went up to get the CT that Dr. Debertin ordered today and got tossed out. Still the same old issue with the fact that I may be allergic to the contrast dye - which is precisely why I had requested an MRI instead! His exact words were "You don't need that expensive test." Tomorrow is my appointment with Dr. Pippy the nephrologist, and we need to pray that she listens to me (which will requre us to pray that I don't come across as the know it all hypochondriac I am), and that she knows what is needed, and that I make enough sense and present a convincing enough argument for why the sudden onset high BP needs to be investigated as potentially being caused by a narrowing of the artery to the kidney since it started when I had a tumor removed from my kidney! The outcome we are looking for - an MRI with contrast to verify the blood flow to the right kidney, and whatever other tests might be necessary to make this blood pressure thing better before my head pops off. :)

(Remember those dandelion games as a kid - "Mary had a baby and his head popped off!" What in the heck were we thinking? LOL!)

Love you all
Ande
